The “Awaken” statewide prayer gathering provides an environment for God to speak to His people through seasons of worship, focused prayer, dialogue and the preaching of God’s Word. Attendees will be challenged to return to their churches with a renewed passion to seek God for the next great revival and spiritual awakening in their community, North Carolina, America and beyond.

Special Pre-Event Dialogue and Dinner for Ministry Leaders:
Pastors, church staff and ministry leaders are invited to a dinner and dialogue on the topic of revival and spiritual awakening with event speaker Richard Owen Roberts on Friday, March 8 from 3-6 p.m. prior to the start of the prayer gathering. The dinner and dialogue is free, but registration is required by clicking on the button below.

Richard Owen Roberts
Richard is the president and a founding director of International Awakening Ministries. A native of Schenectady, N.Y., Richard prepared for ministry at Gordon College, Whitworth College and Fuller Theological Seminary. He has been the pastor of churches in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and California. Since 1975, Richard and his family have lived in the Wheaton, Ill., area. He also worked with the Billy Graham Association and Wheaton College. From his youth, Richard has been a student of spiritual awakenings. He has authored, edited and/or published numerous volumes relating to revival and revivalism. Richard and his wife, Maggie, have two adult children and six grandchildren.
J. Chris Schofield
J. Chris Schofield serves on the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina staff as director of the Office of Prayer. Prior to coming to North Carolina, Chris served with the North American Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention and as manager of the Prayer Evangelism Unit from 1997-2004. He received his bachelor’s degree from Gardner-Webb College, and his master’s degrees in divinity and theology and doctorate of philosophy from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris and his wife, Tamee, have four daughters, two son-in-laws, four grandchildren and reside in Wake Forest.
Stephen is a pastor in western North Carolina, and serves as the Haywood campus leader for Lake Hills Church. He has also served in various ministry positions on church staffs and is passionate about implementing disciple-making strategies through prayer ministries. Stephen has a desire to see churches unite in prayer focus and power for the advancement of Christ’s kingdom.
David worked as a student minister in Youth for Christ in his early twenties. His wife, Joy, traveled as newlyweds in children’s ministers’ roles, ministering to children across the United States. David attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and obtained his master of divinity in international church planting. David and Joy served in East Africa as church planters with the International Mission Board from 1995-2010. He currently serves as the pastor at Beaver Island Baptist Church in Mayodan, N.C.
Jimmy serves as the senior pastor of the Bethel Hill Baptist Church near Lumberton, N.C., where he has pastored for 21 years. Jimmy is actively involved in the Burnt Swamp Baptist Association, and he has served as the moderator of the association and currently serves as the associational prayer leader. Jimmy also serves part time with the Lumbee Indian Tribe as a counselor. He and his wife, Wanda, have four grown children, nine grandchildren and one great-grand child. Jimmy has an unwavering passion to see his church become a house of prayer for the nations and a catalyst for revival and spiritual awakening. He is actively seeking to unite believers and churches in prayer for revival and spiritual awakening.
