Marvin Green

Pastor and retired director of missions, Sandy Run Baptist Association, Forest City, N.C.
Marvin Green has been a pastor for 40 years in churches in North Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana. Marvin is a retired director of missions for the Sandy Run Baptist Association. He helped found the “If My People” prayer ministry of Rutherford County. Marvin is also a member of the Pastors’ Prayer Initiative Team, BSCNC Office of Prayer and a member of the International Mission Board’s “Prayer Champions” prayer support ministry for missionaries.

Fred Lunsford

Former pastor and director of missions, Marble, N.C.
Fred Lunsford continues to serve the Lord even at age 94. Fred is the former pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Hiawassee, Ga., Little Brasstown Baptist Church, Vengeance Creek Baptist Church and Robbinsville First Baptist Church. He was director of missions for Truett Baptist Association for 26 years and received the Director of Missions of the Year honor from the Southern Baptist Convention in 1987.

Fred was founder of Christian Lighthouse Ministries, Inc. and is still very involved. Fred has been very active in teaching seminary extension classes and was awarded the Southern Baptist Convention Extension Lifetime Service Award.

More recently, the North Carolina Baptist State Convention gave him a N.C. Baptist Heritage Award in 2018. Involved with the Baptist Children’s Homes of N.C., Fred helped establish Broyhill and Truett Homes in Western N.C. and subsequently received a Distinguished Service Award.

 

David Horton

President, Fruitland Baptist Bible College,
Hendersonville, N.C.

David Horton has served as president of Fruitland Baptist Bible College since June 1, 2009. David is passionate about the expositional preaching of God’s Word, mentoring students and leading Fruitland to achieve its God ordained mission.

 

 

J. Chris Schofield

Director Office of Prayer,
Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Cary, N.C.

J. Chris Schofield serves on the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina staff as director of the Office of Prayer. Prior to coming to North Carolina, Chris served with the North American Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention and as manager of the Prayer Evangelism Unit from 1997-2004. He received his bachelor’s degree from Gardner-Webb College, and his master’s degrees in divinity and theology and doctorate of philosophy from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris and his wife, Tamee live in Wake Forest and have four daughters, two sons-in-law and four grandchildren.
