All Christ-followers have the duty and delight of making disciples.
Disciple-making is a joy-filled, intentional, loving relationship that encompasses both evangelism and discipleship. Evangelism is the proclamation of God’s good news of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in a way others can understand so that they might turn from their sins and place their faith in Him. Discipleship is the ongoing journey of becoming more like Jesus and helping others do the same. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gave every believer a commission to be a disciple who makes disciples of every nation. This is called the Great Commission.
How can I make disciples?
- Look for Opportunities
Start by knowing how to share the gospel and then look for opportunities to do so. Here is one way to share the gospel.
- Be Discipled
If you have never personally been discipled, find a spiritually mature person or church leader to take you through biblically sound discipleship.
- Disciple Someone
Look for believers in your life who have never been personally discipled and take them through biblically sound discipleship.
