Sending Churches Collective (SCC) is a group of reproducing churches and organizations focused on establishing a sending culture within the local church.
Why do we need sending churches?
Because of the Great Commission, the Christian faith is a missionary faith. Through the Great Commission we see the example set by the early church to make disciples, to baptize, and to bring new believers into Biblical community. Church Planting is part of God’s plan to bring the Great Commission to fruition.
Church planting should not end when a new church is established, but rather, should become a priority of the new body which has been planted.
Sending and reproducing is not just for large churches. Reproducing is not about size, it’s about intention. Are we intentional about the Great Commission and the role your church can and should play in it?
Becoming a sending church can impact your church in an incredible way. Churches that plant become healthier because they decide to plant churches from their church. Planting and sending encourages the continued growth and health of the sending church. When the sending church hears about the good things happening at the new church they think, “Maybe it can happen here too?” The rising tide of church planting lifts boats all along the way.
What is the next step?
If you are waiting for the right time to become a sending church chances are it will probably never happen. There seem to be so many reasons not to plant: “We’re too young. We’re too small. We don’t have enough money.” Like becoming a parent we never feel as if we are truly ready. We must reproduce disciples, leaders, pastors and church planters. Are you ready to reproduce? We can help. “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.”
