RICK HUGHESSenior Consultant, Sunday School and Small Groups
Rick Hughes serves as a consultant for Evangelism and Discipleship for the BSCNC. He is also pastor of the King Cowboy Church and is involved in revitalization of a small church. Rick is the organizer and coordinator of the Triad Coaching Network, as well as pastor of leadership learning communities. He and his wife, Kathy, are involved in missional groups in the Triad area. Rick is a StrengthFinders coach and has served as a mentor/coach for Golden Gate Theological Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and mentors Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary students.
As a pastor and church planter, Rick focuses on discipling people to become followers of Jesus by loving God and loving people. Rick has pastored traditional and non-traditional churches. Since his call to ministry, he has transitioned one of the oldest churches in North Carolina to become a church for life transformation. He has served as a church planting mentor trainer for the North American Mission Board. Rick attended Wingate College and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Rick and Kathy have been married more than 45 years. They have a son, a daughter and five grandchildren.
Rick seeks to honor Christ in relationships at home, the local church and in the marketplace by loving, learning and living the confession of faith that Jesus is Lord. Rick understands his purpose in life is to glorify God in all things.
