Pray for 30 days
Pray for 30 Days is an annual prayer emphasis observed during October leading up to the convention’s Annual Meeting. The biblical basis for this year’s prayer guide is Luke 10:29, “Who is my neighbor?” Join us as we pray for revival and spiritual awakening across our state, nation and world. Use these devotions to assist believers as they seek Christ personally and corporately for revival and spiritual awakening.

No Passport Needed
Working with international students is “front line” mission work. Just as missionaries must make a decision to reach people at the far ends of the earth, so we too must make a decision to reach the thousands of international students who do not know Jesus. Use this guide to help an individual or small group think through the process of building a team to reach international students in the local area.

Multi-Housing Ministry
North Carolina’s multifamily housing community is both large and growing. The overwhelming majority of those living in multifamily housing communities — apartments, condos, townhomes and mobile home parks — are unchurched. Therefore, we must develop creative methods to take the gospel to them rather than expecting them to come to us. This brochure provides an overview of multifamily housing communities and offers some approaches to multifamily housing ministry.

As I am writing this article, I was notified that my grandson, Joshua, had broken his ankle. My granddaughter, Collins, broke her arm this year. My son, Sam, broke his leg a month ago. And my wife, Nellie Jo, broke her wrist earlier this year.   That’s four different Rainer...

So you’re a follower of Jesus: ‘Now What?’

I vividly remember the season when I decided to give up running and join a gym. Up until then I had been an avid runner and enjoyed it. It was a great stress reliever for me, but I didn’t have much physical strength — I was weak and I wanted to change that.    I remember going to...

The beauty of adoption

Mom and dad never called me their adopted son. I was just their son. I was born into an unfortunate situation, but I was adopted into a blessed family. In 1966, adoption was not as highlighted in the American church as it is today. In the spring of 1998, I was a seminary student...
