Pray for 30 days
Pray for 30 Days is an annual prayer emphasis observed during October leading up to the convention’s Annual Meeting. The biblical basis for this year’s prayer guide is Luke 10:29, “Who is my neighbor?” Join us as we pray for revival and spiritual awakening across our state, nation and world. Use these devotions to assist believers as they seek Christ personally and corporately for revival and spiritual awakening.

No Passport Needed
Working with international students is “front line” mission work. Just as missionaries must make a decision to reach people at the far ends of the earth, so we too must make a decision to reach the thousands of international students who do not know Jesus. Use this guide to help an individual or small group think through the process of building a team to reach international students in the local area.

Multi-Housing Ministry
North Carolina’s multifamily housing community is both large and growing. The overwhelming majority of those living in multifamily housing communities — apartments, condos, townhomes and mobile home parks — are unchurched. Therefore, we must develop creative methods to take the gospel to them rather than expecting them to come to us. This brochure provides an overview of multifamily housing communities and offers some approaches to multifamily housing ministry.

4 kinds of pastors whose churches need revitalizing

Revitalization is one of those things pastors Google when no one else is looking. As I travel across the state, I meet pastors who minister in a variety of contexts — rural, urban, small, large, plants and even replants. Some of these pastors know their church is in need of...

5 ways pastors should respond to setbacks in ministry

Things don’t always turn out the way we desire. Oftentimes, we find ourselves asking questions about why something happened, or why we didn’t see it coming. We wonder why God allowed it or have difficulty seeing how God’s plan is being accomplished through it. Phrases such as...

God’s presence provides comfort in times of transition

“It isn’t the changes that do you in, it’s the transitions!” These words by the late William Bridges, who was a leading authority on organizational leadership, have been ringing in my mind throughout the last year. When our country went into lockdown due to the pandemic, it was an...

3 common objections to family discipleship

In Deuteronomy 6:7, Moses commands parents to “impress” God’s Word into the lives of their children. Then, he gives instructions on how to actually make that happen within the rhythms of each day. He says, “Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,...
