Love should be a defining characteristic of those who identify themselves as followers of Christ. In John 13:35, Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (NKJV).

This verse is a reminder that Christ followers should be “Known by Love,” which is the theme of this year’s North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO). Your faithful prayers and gifts to the NCMO help share the love of Christ through a number of vital ministries and missions efforts that impact our state, nation and world.

The North Carolina Missions Offering supports a variety of ministries that include Baptists on Mission (also known as N.C. Baptist Men), church planting, mission camps, a variety of missions partnerships around the world, and mission projects in local Baptist associations across our state.

One of the most visible ministries that the NCMO supports is disaster relief, which is one of the 18 different ministries of Baptists on Mission. Thanks to your generosity, North Carolina Baptists were able to respond to the many physical, spiritual and emotional needs as a result of Hurricanes Florence and Michael, which struck our state last fall. Through our ongoing relief efforts, many victims of these storms have found hope in Jesus Christ through a personal relationship with Him.

The NCMO also helps establish new churches across North Carolina. In 2018, our team of church planting consultants worked with 80 new congregations that are reaching their respective communities with the gospel.

NCMO also enables North Carolina Baptists to get personally involved in missions in our state, nation and world. NCMO also helps fund mission camps in Shelby and Red Springs that offer church groups the opportunity to engage in local missions projects. Additionally, the NCMO allows N.C. Baptists to participate in short-term mission trips across the United States and around the world through several national and international partnerships.

Plus, NCMO helps support a variety of outreach and missions activities right here in North Carolina through partnerships with our local Baptist associations.

September is the month when many churches emphasize NCMO. A variety of resources, videos promotional materials and more are available to you and your church as you promote NCMO. Visit ncmissionsoffering.org to access these resources and learn more about NCMO and the ministries it supports.

Thank you for your prayers and gifts as we once again seek to meet our offering goal of $2.1 million.
