What if every child on Sunday morning could quickly find the Scripture reference that the sermon was based on? What if children and parents felt that the Bible was more than a book used only at church? What if your church could help children and families love the Bible more deeply? What if you could turn these “what ifs” into truths for youth and their families?
Bible Drill is a resource that equips churches to intentionally develop Bible skills in the lives of
youth in grades four through 12. It provides entertaining learning activities while keeping kids moving. With hands-on ideas for guiding children to locate, learn and apply Scripture, children of all ages are able to apply practical pieces to their daily lives.
After three years in Children’s Bible Drill, a child has the opportunity to learn:
- 75 verses
- 30 key passages
- The names and location of all 66 books of the Bible
After three years in Youth Bible Drill, a youth has the opportunity to learn an additional:
- 60 verses
- 30 doctrinal statements and supporting Scriptures
After three years in High School Bible Drill, a student has the opportunity to learn an additional:
- Three separate plans for the steps to salvation (the Romans Road, FAITH and the Path to Heaven)
- 30 verses that answer questions of belief, ethics and doctrine
Bible Drill has a huge impact on youth and families. Every year testimonies reflecting how Bible Drill has impacted the hearts of children, teenagers, college students and families are shared. One young Bible Drill participant, an adopted Asian boy, has a testimony that has touched the hearts of many people. His parents firmly believe in Bible Drill and actively teach it in their home. Even though he has not yet made a profession of faith, he participates in Bible Drill with his parents. He does not have legs, but Bible Drill keeps him active and full of joy. When he participates in Bible Drill the pure joy on his face is contagious to everyone around him.
His father said, “My wife and I pray that this (Bible Drill) pays dividends and paves the way for God to bring our son into a saving relationship with Himself. After that, what he has learned through Bible Drill will be a foundation for the rest of his life as he lives for Christ. I personally credit Bible Drill with raising the level of spiritual maturity and Biblical understanding in our youth group. It is an amazing tool of God to touch the hearts of children, youth, and even adults with His Word.”
Bible Drill prepares children for the future of His kingdom. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” The Scripture they learn with their minds and hold in their hearts as youth will remain with them throughout their lives.
