What is The Go Collective?

The Go Collective (GoCo) equips 18-24 year olds to explore what it means to live on mission – on campus, in their workplaces, and around the world. Together with other young adults, you’ll dive into God’s Word, receive mentorship and be trained to impact the nations with the gospel. GoCo is designed for all students, regardless of vocational path.

What will you experience?

  • Biblical Foundations: Learn God’s story and your role in His mission through monthly online cohort meetings and independent readings.
  • Local Mentorship: Meet monthly with a mentor from your church to apply what you’re learning.
  • Weekend Equipping Retreats: Gather twice (December & April) for worship, teaching, and hands-on training in calling, evangelism, support-raising and cross-cultural ministry.
  • Summer Mission Project: Serve 4-8 weeks through GenSend, IMB or your church’s mission partnership.

FAQ

Is GoCo only for those considering vocational ministry?

No. GoCo equips all believers to see their place in God’s mission wherever their vocations take them. Past students have explored careers on the mission field, local church ministry, the medical field and education. GoCo helps clarify your next steps in education and career.

How do I know if I’m called to do GoCo?

Jesus called every believer to make disciples. The question isn’t if you’re called, but where? GoCo helps students explore what that means for their lives. We invite you to consider not if you’re called to go, but why you would be called to stay.

Can I do GoCo and work/intern during summer?

A few summer opportunities end early enough to allow additional commitments, but we can’t guarantee a match. We ask you to prayerfully commit and trust God’s provision for both your mission project and career needs.

Is GoCo safe?

We partner with trusted organizations that balance student care with growth. GoCo treats participants as adults, challenging them to grow in maturity and wisdom – navigating transportation, managing budgets, and living in new communities – while providing resources to succeed.

How does GoCo compare to a short-term trip?

GoCo provides field training, scholarship support, peer community, and ongoing equipping for a lifetime of mission. If your church partners with an IMB missionary or SendNetwork church plant, ask us about spending your summer with your church’s existing partnership.
