Coronavirus Update as of June 17, 2020:

Regional Drills for 2020 that were scheduled for April have been canceled. The children, youth, high school drillers and speakers have worked diligently this year to learn God’s Word. We still want to honor their accomplishments in this way:

• Children:
Churches will have until December 31, 2020 to hold their church drills and register their information. Any driller who scores 20 or more at their church drill may be declared a state winner, and this will count toward their three, six or nine-year win in the future. Leaders may then submit the names of any three-year state winners (scoring 20 or more at the church drill and in 6th grade) in order to receive a three-year certificate from the state convention office. Church leaders can register their winners by clicking the Award Registration button below.

• Youth/High School/Speakers:
Leaders will follow the same protocol as the children for three-, six- and nine-year winners (scoring 270 or more at the church drill). The National Invitational Tournament for drillers and speakers has been canceled for 2020.

• State Finals:
After much prayer and consultation, there will be no Bible Drill state finals for 2020. This decision was made to prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants based on current recommendations and guidelines from governmental and health officials. Additionally, many churches were limited or not able to conduct church drills, which are necessary to advance to associational and state drills.

During these uncertain times, be reminded of one of our children’s Bible Drill verses:
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

To register your 2020 church drill results and any three-, six- and nine-year winners, please click the 2020 Drill Results & Awards button below.

Bible Drill helps students in grades four through 12 increase their knowledge, memorization and application of Scripture. We exist to help you organize Bible Drill in your church.

If your church decides to participate in Bible Drill, please register your church using the buttons below.  Please notify your association of your intent. If you participated in Bible Drill last year and do not have any information updates, you do not need to register again. Additional details are outlined below, including information about approved Bibles, scholarship details and events.

Color Cycle

In 2021, Bible Drill will be using Red Cycle.

Translations used for 2020 are the King James Version (KJV), Christian Standard Bible (CSB) and the English Standard Version (ESV). Each church must use approved Bibles. The Bible version choice must be made before Bible Drill training begins.

Purchase these approved Bibles at the links provided below or by searching for the ISBN numbers provided.

In order for a student to proceed to the final state drills and qualify for scholarship and state title, the student must be from a participating N.C. Baptist church. A student may win the scholarship only once, even if they are the finalist winner in another division of the YBD/HSBD/or YST in a later year.
