Gayla joined Baptists on Mission in August 2024. She worked as a statistician for about 11 years prior to staying at home with her children and homeschooling for about 22 years. 

Gayla has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Meredith College and a master’s degree in applied mathematics from NC State. She is involved with the Village 127 (foster/adoption) ministry and the children’s ministry at Apex Baptist Church. Gayla and her husband Chris have 4 young adult children – Grace (husband Cole), Yulia, John, and Joel.
