This year’s breakout sessions at the annual meeting will cover a variety of topics, but we’re placing special emphasis on sending and serving. Learn more about what breakout sessions will be offered on Nov. 6-7.

North Carolina Baptists will gather for the 2023 Annual Meeting on Nov. 6-7 at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro. There will be numerous options for breakout sessions, which messengers and visitors can attend to receive further resources and equipping in ministry.

Among the many topics to be covered at this year’s meeting, special attention will be given to sending and serving, reinforcing the theme of being “On Mission Together.” Additional topics will include women’s leadership, fostering and adoption, church revitalization, next generation ministry and more.

BOM Camps and Rebuild Centers Offer Great Locations for In-State Mission Projects

Learn more about five Baptists on Mission rebuild centers and mission camps across the state that offer your church a great location to be involved in missions. 

Building a Sending Culture That Impacts the Nations

In this breakout session, Mercy Hill Church will open up their playbook to help other churches become great sending churches with a heart for the nations.

Calling Out the Called

In this session, we’ll explore ways that we can equip students to scripturally and spiritually discern their calling while providing the necessary guidance they need to faithfully fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Church Fostering and Replanting: Real Stories

This breakout will help you to better understand a healthy process for working together in a fostering journey. Hear perspectives from members of the original church as well as from new members coming from partnering churches. 

Church Revitalization Overview

This session will provide an overview of the different approaches to revitalization and will feature a practical assessment for your church.

College Ministry: Coffee & Connections

Join us to connect with other N.C. Baptist college ministry leaders, hear how God is working on college campuses across the state and learn about resources to help your church reach college students in your community. This is an informal networking time with light refreshments provided.

Developing Young Leaders: Simple Discipleship Shaped by the Gospel

This breakout session will focus on simple, gospel-centered tips for developing young leaders that can be utilized by regular people in any church context. 

Embracing the Joys of Jesus

In this breakout session, we will seek to embrace the joy of Jesus, to find the endurance needed to run the race, to sing in the suffering and to find our reward along the path.

Emotional Barriers to Leading Church Change

This breakout will examine the emotional reasons behind resistance to change and equip pastors and church leaders with practical ways of addressing these emotional barriers to change.

Engaging Your Congregation in Transformational Worship

Our times of gathered worship are perhaps the greatest opportunity for discipleship in the church. What can we do to plan and prepare our worship services to experience the greatest life transformation?

Every Child Initiative

Messenger Orientation

In this breakout, we will be introducing new messengers to the ministries, entities and structure of N.C. Baptists and spending time informing new messengers of what the annual meeting will look like and how business is done over our two days together.

Mobilization to the Nations

Come and learn how creating a sending culture can mobilize your entire church and cause it to multiply. We will talk about barriers across the different generations and how to overcome them.

Mobilizing the Local Church to Make Abortion Unnecessary

Explore ways to disciple believers by serving women and families facing unplanned pregnancies in partnership with your local pregnancy resource center. 

National and International Mission Trips

This breakout session will cover various national and international trips that your church can be involved in.

Navigating the Changing Culture and How to Legally Protect Your Ministry
