We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow. We have access to our all-powerful God through prayer. During this season of uncertainty, here are four simple ways you can pray for, encourage and reach out to your one in the days ahead:
- Pray for your one. In times like these, there are few people who would refuse being prayed for. Ask your one how you can pray for them in this season, and then follow up with them after a few days or weeks regarding their prayer request.
- Text or call your one. Even when we’re not in a pandemic, one of the greatest gifts you can give someone is your curiosity. Call or text your one, and ask them how they are doing and feeling.
- Offer to get groceries for your one. Some people and families aren’t able to get to the grocery store easily — or they may not be able to afford groceries even if they can get to the store. Whenever you’re planning a grocery store run, consider calling or texting your one, single parents you know or elderly neighbors to see if they need anything.
- Send a handwritten letter to your one. Most of North America is staying in their homes and are most likely relying on modern technology for human connection. With the increase in screen time, this is a great time to write your one a handwritten letter of encouragement letting them know you’re thinking about them.
