N.C. Baptist college students are committing to “Go2” — to live on mission together for the sake of the gospel. One of the pathways college graduates and young professionals can take when they commit to the Go2Years initiative is to join a church residency.
Ashanti Glass is a church resident at Provision Church in Monroe. She graduated from Wingate University, and she is being trained in ministry and pouring into other college students.
In this episode, N.C. Baptists’ college ministry strategist Alex Hugo asks Ashanti to give a behind the scenes look at a church residency.

Podcast Highlights:
- “They encouraged me to consider residency after I graduated. Just seeing the ways I was gifted and just the fruit inside of my life. So, again it was just really that investment and getting a taste of that in student leadership where we are kind of tasked with discipling and reaching out to other students who are a little bit younger than us. … Just that investment from individuals in the church, especially older women at our church.” (6:31)
- “God was just so sovereign, because I had really no plans after undergraduate. I had a general idea. I majored in psychology. So, I was pretty available, which was another reason that there was really nothing stopping me from doing it [college residency] because I didn’t have really much of a plan after [graduating from college].” (7:31)
