Every September, churches across North Carolina unite to give generously to missions through the North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO). Here’s what you need to know about this special offering.

N.C. Baptists have a proven track record when it comes to missions giving. In 2023, N.C. Baptists gave more than $15.7 million to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions and nearly $7.4 million to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions, reflecting record highs in gifts to each of those offerings.

Churches across North Carolina are on mission together to give, so that communities around the state, nation and world would be reached with the gospel.

Every September, N.C. Baptists express this spirit of generosity through gifts to the North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO). Together, churches across the state raise millions of dollars for this statewide missions giving effort, making an impact as they give the gift of “relief for today, hope for tomorrow.”

To help you learn more about this special missions giving opportunity, here are some answers to frequently asked questions about the NCMO.

What is the NCMO?

NCMO is an annual offering that helps mobilize N.C. Baptists for missions such as church planting, disaster relief work and other ministries throughout the state. By giving to NCMO, N.C. Baptists are able to fuel missions efforts that extend across North Carolina and around the world. As stated in this year’s theme, gifts to the NCMO help N.C Baptists bring “relief for today, hope for tomorrow.”

What ministries does the NCMO support?

Gifts to the NCMO go to support the following ministries:

  • Baptists on Mission: By giving to NCMO, you have the opportunity to support Baptists on Mission, which enables Baptists to serve communities through disaster relief work,  mobile and dental bus ministries, mission camps, rebuild centers and much more.
  • SendNC church planting: Gifts to NCMO support new church plants throughout North Carolina through the work of SendNC.
  • Associational missions: A percentage of gifts to the NCMO return to Baptist associations as a way to support regional mission projects across the state.

See the graph below for a breakdown of NCMO giving percentages.
