Kathryn Carson was named director of the new Marketing and Communications group in October 2021 after leading the work of what was formerly known as the Communication Team. Overall, she has served at the Baptist state convention since 2005.
Kathryn coordinates with staff to create communication strategies that incorporate graphic designs for print, web, video, editorial and other various media. She works closely with graphic designers, writers, web developers and videographers. Kathryn holds a master’s degree in strategic communication from Liberty University.

Joey Prince
Executive Assistant, Marketing & Communications Group
Joey Prince serves the Marketing and Communications group as the executive assistant.
He is a native of Duncan, North Carolina, a small community located a few miles west of Fuquay-Varina.
Joey graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in computer science, and he worked for the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services in the information technology (IT) field for more than 30 years.
Following his retirement from state government, Joey began working for the Baptist state convention in February 2018.
Joey and his wife, Wendy, reside in Duncan and are members of Macedonia Baptist Church. They have three grown children.
