‘Deep Impact’ shows Christ’s love in word, deed

Your church’s gifts to the North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO) are at work across the state and world through faithful acts of youth and students who are compelled by Christ’s love.

The NCMO is an annual offering that provides support for the ministries of Baptists on Mission, also known as N.C. Baptist Men (NCBM), church planting, mission camps, associational projects and mobilization ministry projects.

The Deep Impact Missions Weekend is a pre-packaged mission experience sponsored by Baptists on Mission that provides middle and high school students and their leaders with the opportunity to share God’s love with people through word and deed.

Reflecting on the work being done, one Deep Impact student said, “I love seeing the joy on their face knowing that we’re here to help them through this difficult time.”

“I love seeing the joy on their face knowing that we’re here to help them through this difficult time.”

Youth and leaders participate in a variety of mission opportunities. Morning devotions and evening worship help students reflect on their lives and commit themselves to serving others in Christ’s name. This time of worship and reflection helps remind these students of Christ’s example of love and obedience which is reflected in these students’ service.

In 2019, 1,504 participants participated in 11 camps across North Carolina, across the United States and across the world. Without the generous support of churches and individuals through the NCMO, these trips wouldn’t be possible.

Through Deep Impact, students have an opportunity to serve Christ together on a team doing a variety of tasks to love and serve those in need. Areas of ministry include construction, visiting seniors in a care facility, backyard Bible clubs, sports camps and community outreach.

Although the NCMO emphasis occurs in September, offerings are received year-round. There are a number of free NCMO resources that pastors may use to promote NCMO in their churches. Resources are available at ncmissionsoffering.org/resources.
