Deuteronomy 6 instructs parents to teach their children about God throughout the routines of the day.
Parents pack healthy lunches for their children to take to school so they will get the nutrition they need to learn and grow. Why not add something to help nurture their spiritual lives at school, as well?
Have you ever considered that your child’s school lunchbox could be used as a tool to teach them about God? Here are some ideas on how to make lunch time a time for discipleship.
- Add a note or a picture that reminds your child that God loves them and that you are praying for them.
- Write out a Scripture verse that teaches about an attribute of God.
- Write out a simple blessing for their food that reminds them to express gratitude for God’s gift of food.
Gentle thoughts that focus on the might and love of God will help your child grow in their faith as they become disciples of Christ. Adding these simple notes can help your child received both spiritual and physical nourishment each day.
