Foundations of Children’s Ministry is designed to help new children’s ministry leaders (two years or less on church staff) understand key areas of responsibility within children’s ministry in the local church.

Children’s ministry consultant Cheryl Markland will lead a small cohort of leaders through six required video conference calls. Participants will learn from Cheryl’s 20 years of experience in children’s ministry and from one another through participation in the interactive calls. The goal is to equip ministry leaders with a deeper understanding of children’s ministry and to train and prepare volunteers to lead well in their assignment.

Cost and Registration

The cohort is free but requires attending all six video meetings and completing readings and other assignments between meetings. (A list of required books is available in the “Downloads” section below.) Those interested must complete an online application. Please note that completion of the application does not guarantee acceptance. Those selected will be notified by email.

The cohort will run from Jan. 9 until March 19, 2024. Meetings will start at 8 p.m.
